In the dimly lit subway train, a sense of dread clung to the stale air. Five thieves, cold-blooded and determined, had set their sights on a sinister prize, ready to commit the robbery of the century. Among them, four men and a lone girl harbored dark tales from their pasts, secrets that festered like malevolent specters.
The Sinister Train Heist
As the train embarked on its journey, one of the thieves reached into his bag, revealing a menacing firearm. Panic erupted among the passengers; some wept, others shielded their loved ones, and a few cowered on the floor. At the far end of the carriage, an enigmatic girl sat alone, her countenance untouched by fear. She didn’t cry, didn’t flinch; instead, she fixed the five thieves with an icy smile. It was as though she relished the fear that coursed through the carriage, feeding off it like a forbidden feast.
One of the thieves, his nerves fraying as he collected wallets from trembling passengers, approached the girl, his voice laced with menace.
“Are you deaf?” he snarled. “Get down, you little brat.”
But the girl neither blinked nor quivered. Instead, she responded in a voice dripping with eerie knowledge.
The Enigmatic Train Passenger
“Hey, Jack,” she purred, “I’m delighted to see you maintain that same callousness you displayed when you encountered Annie, that little girl from the hospital where you once worked. She begged for mercy, didn’t she? But you didn’t hesitate for a moment. By the way, she sends her regards…”
Jack’s face twisted in terror at this revelation of his darkest secret.
“How…how did you know that?” he stammered, his voice trembling.
“Oh, Jack, my love,” the girl whispered, “I know many things. You see, secrets are like butterflies. Before they transform into beautiful, colorful creatures, they’re ugly worms. You can never hide a secret’s true face, Jack, no matter how hard you try to transform it.”
As the subway train plunged into a tunnel, darkness enveloped them all. When it emerged into the light, the enigmatic girl had vanished into thin air. Simultaneously, Jack’s phone rang; it was his wife. He answered, his voice urgent.
“What do you want? I’m in the middle of something.”
Jack’s wife’s voice quivered with fear. “Please, Jack, help me. There’s a little girl here, staring at me and our daughter. She’s smiling, not saying a word. I’m scared, Jack, please help!”
“I’m coming. Don’t talk to her, don’t do anything!” Jack instructed, hastily hanging up.
With urgency in his step, Jack swiftly relayed to his fellow thieves that he needed to depart, hastening towards his abode.
“Are you insane? What’s wrong with you? We need to finish this!”
“Do whatever you want,” Jack retorted, “I’m leaving this damn train.”
A Dark Revelation
As the doors parted, Jack jumped out and raced towards the exit. He hailed a cab and reached his home, only to be greeted by a gruesome sight—bloodstains marred the windows. Inside, his wife and daughter lay lifeless, their lips curled into a gruesome smile. Jack’s anguish overflowed, and he cried out to the heavens.
“Why, God, why?”
Suddenly, as if conjured from the shadows themselves, the enigmatic girl materialized behind him.
“Annie wondered the same thing, Jack,” she whispered. “Why her? What had she done? Did she harm anyone? But you didn’t stop, Jack. You kept on and on until she stopped breathing. Why, Jack?”
“Who are you? What do you want from my life?” Jack demanded, trembling.
“Perhaps I’m God. Maybe I’m the Devil. Maybe, at the end of the day, I’m you, Jack.”
“What do you want from me? Haven’t I suffered enough?”
“No, Jack,” the girl said, her voice dripping with malice. “This is just the beginning. You haven’t even realized it yet, have you, Jack? You’re in hell, and you’ll relive this day again and again. Because you know what hell is, Jack? Hell is repetition.”
A Cycle of Horror
Jack awoke in terror, drenched in sweat, struggling to breathe. His wife, roused from slumber, tried to console him.
“What happened, my love? It was just a nightmare.”
Jack rushed to his daughter’s room, finding her sleeping soundly. Overwhelmed with relief, he broke down.
“Please, don’t take them away from me,” he sobbed.
The next day, the planned robbery went ahead, but Jack never joined. Instead, he took his family and fled to a distant place, a glimmer of hope in his heart. They boarded a train, and Jack wore a genuine smile, finally reunited with those he cherished most.
As the train pulled away, Jack left the cabin to visit the restroom. Upon his return, a chilling sight awaited him—his wife and daughter had vanished. In their place sat the enigmatic girl, her smile as dark and enigmatic as ever.
“Hey Jack! Remember? Hell is a repetition! Enjoy the ride Jack”
