Frightening Flickers at Hotel San Carlos
“I had heard this hotel was haunted. I was skeptical, but was reassured the rumors were true. The first night started with me hanging a Ghostbusters sign on the lamp as a joke. The lamp immediately burned out. For fun, we downloaded a ghost app. It showed ghosts in and out of our room. Sometimes you would feel a chill come over you from your head to your toes. Sometimes you felt like you were being watched. Our laptop went wacky and died on us there. While in the basement using the business center, a ceiling fan with a pull came on by itself. We didn’t pull it.
Nothing will top the 2nd (and last) night we stayed. While my partner was using the restroom, I jokingly told him the ghost was in there according to our app. He began to beat on the door telling me to hurry in there. I thought he was joking so I initially ignored him. He kept telling me to come in there so i did. The light in the bathroom was smoking and forming into a shape towards him and the light flickered many colors. We video taped this and looking into the phone, the light was so bright in there you could not make out the bathroom. When we would pan over to the room area, the picture was fine.
“Haunted!!! We Left!” said jmckelvey
The staff is wonderful and moved us to another room. Once inside, we were feeling very eerie and discussing leaving. It took a bag of Doritos that were sitting on a desk with us on the other side of the room to fly across the room – ALL BY ITSELF. That was it. The staff was accommodating and refunded us for that night.
The hotel itself is charming and old. A great stay for those wanting to experience the paranormal. The activity in our room was outrageous. “
Ghastly Greetings at The Brick Hotel
“This is a very haunted hotel, for certain. I had 5 encounters with ghosts there, and I didn’t believe in them until now. In 201, a woman was spotted. In 202, I was awakened by my doorknob jiggling and turning and the door making a sound as if being pushed against. Then I heard some sobbing. it happened a second time at 4am, without the sobbing.
They don’t keep the doors closed there, so no air-pressure change was possible between the room and hallway. My room key was under the bed. I always keep keys in my pants pocket in case I have to run for work. One sandal was also missing. I always take off my sandals and drop my shorts on top of the sandals so I know where everything is. The other sandal was finally found on the other side of the room.
This morning in 205, the shower turned suddenly cold. I turned around to see that the knob had moved 110 degrees and was a bit upset, enough not to spend the rest of my stay there. But it’s filled with history and had it not been for the strange activity there, I would have loved it. It’s old and needs work as all old places do: but I have a penchant for history and wanted to remain. It’s a beautiful place and built in 1705. I’m actually a descendant of Nathanael Greene who stayed there. But the ghost is definitely a prankster, and such things usually only get worse with time.”
Ephemeral Encounters at Radisson Blu Edwardian Hampshire Hotel, London
“Stayed a few years ago, my partner and i both saw a ghost, it was a man in a black cloak (mid length) and hat, very short in height, he ran in front of us and into the lift, as the doors closed, i pressed them to open and to our shock there was nobody in the lift!!! This was thrilling and shocking to us as we both saw the same thing (we were sober) lol – just wondered if you could let us know if you or anyone else has ever reported seeing anything at this hotel…. did some research and it used to be The Royal dental hospital and the building dates back to 1858…. plenty of history as you’d agree!!! Let us know, we would love to return to the hotel and maybe do a ghost hunt in the lift area… fascinating!!!! Great hotel”
Nightmare in the Reno Hilton
I stayed at the Reno Hilton for a few nights. After checking out we decided we wanted to stay one more night in Reno. But, our hotel was sold out so we drove around a bit and went to some Motel 8 or something similar , it really didn’t matter , our plan was to just see the town a little more, go back , sleep and leave early .
Anyway, we check in and head to our room. This was early evening, still light out, we’re walking down the hallway and the hair on the back of my neck stands up, that’s weird. I worked in the hotel industry at this time in my life and am used to being in these establishments,
Room of Dread
I get to my room and as I walk in a very very strong gust of wind blows down on me from above. The door and it was a strange cold gust of air. I thought it was one of those bug blowers or whatever that some stores have, I thought it was weird for one to be in an individual hotel room. So I walked in and set my stuff on the bed , my girlfriend follows me. It felt uneasy, very uneasy but said nothing, she sits on the edge of the other bed , and not even 10 seconds pass when she says “I am NOT staying in this room, it’s scaring the shit out of me!!”
I asked her why, she was like “Idk , but something is wrong” I felt it too. I peered into the closet /bathroom area. It was very very dark and I had no desire to even go near it, then I glanced up above the door to see what caused that huge rush of air to blow , and there was nothing there.
I picked up my stuff and told her let’s go let’s get the hell out of here. As fear gripped them, they swiftly returned to the front desk. The clerk’s subtle nod signaled an eerie understanding. Without a word, they received a refund. No questions asked, no explanation needed. The encounter left them unsettled, pondering the clerk’s tacit acknowledgment. Could he have known the room’s sinister secret? Or perhaps something more sinister awaited within?
An Unsettling Departure
I really cannot explain the overwhelming feeling of needing to just leave not only that room but the entire place at that point.
Later, I asked my gf if she felt that gust of air when we walked into the room and she said no, but she did feel weird and scared as soon as she walked in, but didn’t want to say anything to me , until it was overwhelming , just a few seconds later .
I wish I had a conclusion to this story. But I didn’t wait around long enough to find out what it was , but I can definitely say something very evil was lurking in that room that day , whether it was a bad person or bad spirits , I know we avoided a bad situation by immediately leaving
