Kelsey Egan’s debut feature, “Glasshouse,” took the world by storm. Premiering at Fantasia in 2021, it garnered rave reviews globally. It became the most awarded film of the year at the South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs). Streaming platforms like Showmax, Apple TV, Prime Video, and Tubi showcased it.
Now, Egan returns with her second movie, “The Fix.” This film will have its world premiere on Sunday, June 23, as the closing night film at the Chattanooga Film Fest in Tennessee (for in-person screenings). Moviemaker Magazine hails this event as one of the “25 Coolest Film Festivals in the World.”
A Star-Studded Cast
“The Fix” features Grace van Dien from “Stranger Things” as the lead. She plays a model who takes a new designer drug at a party. The drug causes a shocking transformation. Pursued by forces with competing interests, she discovers her mutations might save humanity.
The cast also includes Daniel Sharman (“Fear The Walking Dead”), Clancy Brown (“John Wick 4”), and South African actress Nicole Fortuin (“Heart of the Hunter”).
A Must-Watch Premiere
“When you lay your eyes on South African filmmaker Kelsey Egan’s thrilling sci-fi/action/body horror concoction, ‘The Fix,’ you’ll immediately understand why we knew this had to be our 2024 Closing Night Selection,” says Chattanooga Film Fest. “We love this movie, from its killer lead performance by the wonderful Grace van Dien to its wild dystopian world and fantastic mutation effects.
