Previously: Weird whispers haunt Lorie’s mind as she prepares for her favorite day, Halloween. Every step tinged with an unsettling, haunting evil.
After the whirlwind of Halloween’s adventures, Lorie found herself disturbed by strange knocks and the sudden appearance of a pink azalea atop of her pillow. She struggled to recall, but the mind often conceals trauma. The only shard of memory—holding that delicate flower to her hand. What was it? Why did this happy gift bring back scary memories?
The weekend gave her a break, but Lorie still felt exhausted. Even after the fun of the previous week, she couldn’t shake off a strange, unsettling feeling.

A tempestuous rain pummeled against her windows, each drop a cacophony on the glass. The sky mirrored her mood—gray, thunder punctuating the downpour. She retreated to her couch, cocooning herself in a blanket as the cold seeped into her bones.
Stormy Encounters: The Shadowy Visitor
She turned on the TV to find comfort from the constant rain. But a sudden thunder made her jump. She had a strange feeling that someone might be outside. Who would be out in such a storm? She looked at the main window, trying to see if anyone was there.
In the darkness lit by occasional flashes of lightning, she saw a figure—a woman’s shadow staring at her. She thought it might be a trick or a trick of the mind. Motionless, she waited for the second thunder, and when it boomed, the silhouette returned, two intense yellow eyes meeting hers. She screamed, knowing this was all too real.

Summoning courage, she dashed for the phone, intending to call Mark, her recent date, seeking solace in his company. But the phone lay by the window, her cellphone upstairs.
Awaiting the third thunder, a sense of relief washed over her when the silhouette vanished. She sprinted for the phone, calling Mark in a panicked rush.

The Chilling Message on Glass
Two rings, and a voice answered:
Lorie: “Mark? Are you there?”
A creepy noise, like whispers from underwater, followed by a haunting female voice:
“You promised…”
Tears streamed down Lorie’s face. Familiar yet unplaceable, the voice echoed her fears, mingling with the inexplicable events of the past days. The phone rang again—twice. Trembling, she answered.
Mark: “Lorie, can you hear me now?”
Lorie: “Mark, thank goodness! Please come over. I can’t be alone tonight.”
Mark: “Absolutely, but why do you sound so frightened? What’s wrong?”
Lorie: “I’ll explain later. Just hurry.”
Mark: “I’m on my way, love.”
As she hung up, she glanced back at the window. A chilling message etched in the glass stared back at her: “You promised.” She felt both disgusted and afraid. Who would pull off such a horrifying prank?
The Haunting Dream: Encounter by the Lake
With eyes closed, she awaited Mark’s arrival, only to find herself transported to a deep green forest in a vivid dream. In the midst of tall trees was a familiar lake with a big rock on its edge. She felt strangely linked to this spot. And then, a female figure emerged from the water’s depths.

“I am coming for your promise, love.”
Suddenly, three knocks jolted her awake. Mark, soaked from head to toe, stood at the door.
Mark: “What happened, hun?”
Lorie: “I just remembered…”
