Previously: Lorie finally remembers the dark history and her paranormal encounter. However, a painful event threatens to further disrupt her life. Will she be able to recover and confront the truth?
Lorie walked into her nice house on Markham Hollow Road in New York. She was super focused on finding out who the mystery caller was. It was more than just curiosity; she felt like this voice had all the solutions she needed in the middle of this crazy mess.
She kept calling, but it was like talking to thin air. Mark, her boyfriend, thought it was just some big joke. But seriously, who would pull such a messed-up prank on the day Lorie’s dad passed away?
Seeking solace, Lorie implored Mark to stay with her for a few days, grappling with her loss and the unsettling occurrences preceding it.
“Give me an hour, love. I’ll be there,” Mark replied, departing promptly, not a moment wasted.
Mark, a kind guy haunted by growing up without a mom because of a tough choice his dad had to make, felt a heavy guilt about family stuff. Seeing Lorie’s pain hit him hard, making him really understand how she was feeling.
While Lorie awaited Mark’s arrival, she persistently dialed the unknown number, determined to unravel its mysteries. This elusive figure seemed entwined with her past, a bizarre connection to the Lake incident.
The doorbell rang like crazy, interrupting her thoughts. Thinking it was Mark back already, Lorie hurried to open the door. But what she found there turned her world into a horror show.
Her father stood there, dripping wet, skin tinged purple, a minuscule octopus squirming from his mouth. Before she could even scream, he grabbed her, holding on tight, looking like he was dead set on ending her life in a scary, determined way.
Lorie fought hard against her father’s strong grip, torn between shock and the urge to survive. She grabbed a knife from the kitchen, slashing at his arms, desperate to break free.
Amidst the chaos, her phone rang. A familiar voice, the unknown caller, echoed through the receiver.
“It’s not real, Lorie. Don’t give in,” the voice cautioned, urging her to stay strong.
Everything got blurry for Lorie. She found herself alone, lying on the kitchen bench, holding a knife, cuts on her own skin, blood all over.
“Trembling and tearful,” she asked, “Who are you?”
“She’s been tailing me, messing with my head too. Hang tight, I’m heading your way. I’ll explain everything,” the caller promised Lorie, committed to revealing the truth.
Mark’s arrival bore witness to the grisly scene. Alarmed, he urged medical attention.
“Good Lord, what happened?” Mark exclaimed. “We need to get you to the hospital.”
“I’m not going anywhere,” Lorie replied firmly. “I’m waiting for the unknown caller.”
